Commission X Of The DPR Hopes That The Prabowo Government Will Make Education A Top Priority

JAKARTA - Member of Commission X DPR RI Fahmi Alaydroes hopes that the next government under the leadership of the elected president Prabowo Subianto can truly become an education in Indonesia as the commander of development or top priority in development.

"In the future, we hope and we will also depend on the hope of the next government. Hopefully, the next president can really participate or listen to the discussion or input from these professors, so that in the next five years hopefully education will become the commander of development. Hopefully education will become the top priority of our development, so that the allocation of funds can follow the policy that way," said Fahmi at the Public Hearing Meeting (RDP) of the Working Committee (Panja) Education Financing Commission X DPR RI with a number of former ministers at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Tuesday 2 July, confiscated by Antara.

According to Fahmi, the next government plays an important role in solving various problems in the education sector in the country. According to him, until today the education sector in Indonesia still has various problems and homework (PR).

"There is still a lot of homework, there are still many problems from various sides, both access, quality, and relevance issues," he said.

On the same occasion, Fahmi also highlighted the education curriculum that does not empower students' minds and minds.

"I experienced it from elementary school in the 70s until I was undergraduate, master's degree, and doctoral degree, I had the experience of studying in our schools, indeed I was not able to empower my mind, mind, I was not able to empower my thinking processes," he said.

He also considered that education in Indonesia should prioritize research. Referring to Islamic teachings, Fahmi conveyed that the peak of noble or high level of thinking is through research activities.

"The initiative is a direct order of the Qur'an," said Fahmi.

However, he continued, research in the country has not yet developed optimally.

"Yesterday (in the previous meeting), when there was a resource person from one of the education observers, it gave a kind of criticism that our higher education is more oriented towards coaching, teaching, not research," said Fahmi.

Previously, similar hopes had also been conveyed by a member of Commission X DPR RI Djohar Arifin Husin. "Hopefully the new government will be, God willing, it can be even better," he said.
