A 10-year-old Boy Drowns In The Lalowosul River, Southeast Sulawesi, Basarnas Conducts A Search

The Kendari Basarnas conducted a search operation for a girl who drowned in the Lalowosula River, Ladong District, East Kolaka Regency (Koltim), Southeast Sulawesi Province (Sultra).

Head of Basarnas Kendari Aminuddin US said the boy was named Sakina, 10 years old. He was reported missing by his parents, at 10.30 WITA.

"We received information that there has been a dangerous condition for humans against one child who is suspected of drowning in the Lalowosula Village River, Ladongi District," Aminuddin said in Kendari, Sulra, Monday, July 1, which was confiscated by Antara.

He said, based on this information, his party then dispatched a Rescue Team for the Kolaka SAR Post to the reported location to provide SAR assistance.

"The distance from the location with the Kolaka SAR Post is about 69 kilometers," he said.

Aminuddin said that when he arrived at the location, his party immediately carried out a sweep around the river along with several other elements with cloudy weather conditions and the potential for light rain to occur.

"The elements involved were from the Kolaka SAR Post, Ladongi Police, Lalowosula Village officials, the surrounding community, and the families of the victims," said Aminuddin.

As for the tools used, including rescue cars, rubber boats, medical palsars, evacuation palsars, communication equipment, and other safety support equipment.

Aminuddin also added that the disappearance of the victim began when he and his younger brother Sahril came out playing around the river near their house, at 13.00 WITA.

Then at 15.00 WITA, the victim's sister returned home without the victim.

"The search has been carried out by the family, but until this information was received with no results," said Aminuddin.
