The Electability Of Heru Budi Is Difficult To Compete With Anies And RK In The Jakarta Pilkada

JAKARTA - Executive Director of the Indonesia Political Review, Ujang Komarudin, assessed that the opportunity for the Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono to advance and compete in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada was very difficult.

The name Heru Budi has recently become one of the names that has the opportunity to be promoted as a candidate for governor (cagub) by the DKI Jakarta Democratic Party DPD. This is because Heru Budi is considered a figure who can focus on leading the region and has no agenda of making the governor's status a political stepping stone

However, Ujang said that Heru Budi's chances were relatively small to compete in the Jakarta Pilkada considering his electability was still far behind other names, such as Anies Baswedan and Ridwan Kamil.

"Heru Budi's electability is far between Anies and RK. This means that in the context of him running, it is difficult to get a political party," he said, Sunday, June 30, 2024.

According to Ujang, all political parties are almost certain to encourage figures with high electability to advance in the Jakarta Pilkada. The reason is, so far the electability factor is a factor that determines a person's victory in the election contestation.

Based on this, he said, Heru Budi's opportunity to get support from existing political parties is very small. Except, if in the coming survey results Heru Budi's electability can increase sharply.

"From my perspective, Heru Budi is difficult or difficult to get political parties because his electability is low. Meanwhile, political parties are very pragmatic, wanting to support candidates who have the potential to win," concluded Ujang.
