Ruko Fire In Tangerang Kills One Person

TANGERANG - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) reported that one person died in a shop house fire incident on Jalan Raya Prapatan Saga, RT002//RW009, Saga Village, Tangerang Regency, Banten, Saturday night, June 29.

Head of BPBD Tangerang Regency, Ujat Sudrajat, said the fire incident occurred at around 18.00 WIB.

"For the beginning of the report we received at around 18.45 WIB, then our fire team went straight to the crime scene (TKP)," Ujat said as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, June 30.

Based on the report, said Ujat, in the fire accident there were fatalities, namely a shophouse resident named Riski (32).

"The victim was in the bathroom trapped and died," he said.

The victim has been rushed to a nearby hospital as a step of investigation by the security forces.

The temporary suspicion that the cause of the fire was due to a gas cylinder leak.

The reason is, based on the family's statement at the time of the incident, the victim was cooking in the kitchen.

"The victim was cooking instant noodles in the kitchen and caused a gas leak. The victim was locked inside. Because his wife was shopping for fried chicken raw materials and rolling door was locked by his wife," he said.

He added that in handling the fire, the officers managed to extinguish the fire for more than an hour by deploying two fire engines and 10 personnel.

"Officers managed to extinguish the fire for about an hour, and two vehicles were deployed with 10 personnel," he said.
