JAKARTA - National Human Rights activist Natalius Pigai said he had proposed 8 points so that the international community immediately rescue civilians who were victims of war, especially women and children. He submitted the proposal during a humanitarian visit to Ukraine.

"At the meeting, I basically proposed 8 points that are considered the most important and relevant for now in order to save civilians who are victims of war, especially children, women and other vulnerable groups," said Pigai in a written statement to VOI, Saturday, June 29.

Pigai explained that the eight points consisted of bringing the children of war victims back to their homes, reintegration, advocacy, international campaigns, seeking justice, restitution, compensation and rehabilitation.

"I conveyed these eight things to the international community and asked the world coalition to help innocent civilian victims, especially women and children. So far, 35 countries have joined this humanitarian coalition," Pigai explained.

The activist from Papua said that he had received a lot of information regarding the condition of children and women who were victims of war.

"I got a lot of information from the Ukrainian Ombudsman about the children suffering from the war," Natalius said.
