NTB Labuhan Hajj Port Rehabilitation Corruption Case Rises Investigation

The East Lombok District Attorney (Kejari) in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) revealed that there was a step to investigate the alleged project corruption case at the Transportation Service (Dishub) for the 2022 fiscal year.

Head of the East Lombok Kejari Hendro Wasisto revealed that the project was related to the rehabilitation work of the Labuhan Hajj Port Pier.

"The investigation was determined based on an investigation warrant issued on June 27, 2024," said Hendro in a written statement, Friday, June 28, which was confiscated by Antara.

He conveyed that the prosecutor's office raised the status of case handling to the investigation stage based on the results of the investigation that had found a criminal incident.

"From the results of the case title, criminal events have been found that are detrimental to state finances," he said.

The criminal incident, he continued, was found from the results of requests for information and examination of documents.

Hendro said that at least 14 people were included in the list of requests for information and 45 documents related to project work.

Furthermore, he ensured that at this stage of investigation his party would reschedule requests for information to the parties, including tracing evidence of state financial losses.

"So, we will summon the parties who have been questioned at the investigation stage as witnesses to be examined at this stage of investigation," he said.

The budget for the port dock rehabilitation project comes from the special allocation fund (DAK) of the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation with a budget ceiling of IDR 3.09 billion. The project implementer is a company with the initials AF.
