PKS Responds To PAN Ready To Compete Against Anies In The Jakarta Gubernatorial Election: Let's Have Healthy And Fair Competitions

JAKARTA - PKS DPP chairman Mardani Ali Sera answered the statement by the Chairman of the PAN DPP, Saleh Partaonan Daulay, who is ready to compete in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada. PAN is even optimistic that the candidate he will carry will win again against Anies Baswedan in the Jakarta gubernatorial election.

It is not as easy as Saleh said, Mardani assessed, the Jakarta Pilkada is different from the 2024 presidential election. Because according to him, the coverage of the regional elections is smaller than the presidential election. Moreover, the candidates promoted by PAN only narrowly won over Anies.

It is known that the recapitulation of vote count in DKI Jakarta in the last presidential election, the pair Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar received 2,653,762 votes or 41.07 percent.

Meanwhile, the pair Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka received 2,692,011 votes, equivalent to 41.67 percent.

"The regional elections are different from the presidential election, the areas are smaller. Moreover, Jakarta can all be touched directly," Mardani told reporters, Friday, June 28.

In addition, Mardani reminded, the character of Jakarta residents is also different from that of other regional voters. Therefore, the member of the DPR for the Jakarta electoral district assessed that Anies' chances of winning were greater. Moreover, Anies was once the governor of DKI Jakarta. "Mas Anies' opportunity is big because he already has a track record, plus characterity is indeed the basis for the Pilkada," he explained.

The member of Commission II of the DPR also invited Anies' competitors to compete in a healthy and fair manner in the upcoming Jakarta Pilkada. In particular, the candidates to be promoted by PAN.

"Let's have a healthy and fair competition," said Mardani.

Previously, the PAN DPP stated that the candidate for governor to be promoted by the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) was ready to compete with Anies Baswedan, in the Jakarta Pilkada.

This was conveyed by the Chairman of the DPP PAN Saleh Partaonan Daulay in response to the formation of a new axis competing Anies Baswedan in the Jakarta gubernatorial election. It is known that Anies has been officially promoted by PKS in pairs with Sohibul Iman.

"Earlier, I was asked if PAN made a new axis? Because actually the axis already exists, the Indonesian Coalition is advanced," Saleh said at a press conference at the PAN DPP Office, South Jakarta, Thursday, June 27.

Saleh even jumawa if his party who was a member of KIM as the supporter of Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka managed to beat Anies, who at that time was paired with Muhaimin Iskandar.

"Asked if it's more or less like this, dare to compete with Anies in DKJ. Never mind in DKJ, in the presidential election alone we won," said Saleh.

According to Saleh, the victory of the presidential election as the benchmark for KIM's candidate in the Jakarta gubernatorial election will reap the same results. He also invited Anies to come forward again as the incumbent.

"The fact is that you won, especially in DKJ. So there is no problem, so if you still want to go, go ahead," Saleh explained.
