JAKARTA - The Pacific Tsunami Early Warning Center (PWTC) issued an alert warning of a possible potential tsunami wave to a height of 3 meters along the Peruvian coast.
This alert warning was issued following the Peru earthquake measuring 7.2 on a Richter scale according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
"Based on all available data, a dangerous tsunami wave is expected to occur on several beaches," PWTC said as quoted by CNN, Friday, June 28.
The Peru Geophysics Institute (IGP) also issued a tsunami warning one level lower than the tsunami warning which means authorities must activate protocols to protect residents from the possibility of a tsunami.
