Carrying Anies-Sohibul Iman, NasDem Values PKS In A Hurry

JAKARTA - The NasDem Party respects the attitude of PKS which has officially promoted the Anies Baswedan-Sohibul Iman (AMAN) pair for the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada. The PKS decision to carry Anies-Sohibul is considered rushed. Because later the political parties that want to form a coalition feel they have been restricted.

However, NasDem predicts PKS will be more flexible after forming a coalition with other political parties in the 2024 Pilkada.

"It's PKS' right to carry (Anies-Sohibul). But I think they will be even more flexible after inviting (other parties) to the coalition," NasDem politician Bestari Barus told reporters, Wednesday, June 26.

It is known that PKS cannot carry its own candidate even though it is the winner of the election in Jakarta. This is because the political party, which is headed by Ahmad Syaikhu, only gets 18 seats in the DKI Jakarta DPRD in the 2024 election.

At least, PKS still needs 4 more seats to be able to achieve the minimum requirement to carry a candidate, namely to fulfill 20 percent of the seats in the Jakarta DPRD, which amounted to 106 seats.

Therefore, Bestari considered that the PKS decision to carry Anies-Sohibul was in a hurry. Because later on, the political parties who want to form a coalition feel they have been restricted. "If it is limited to Anies-Sohibul Iman, what will others get?", said Bestari.

Moreover, according to Bestari, so far Anies has been synonymous with PKS. This, he said, would be seen as a single party nomination. In addition, PKS will get the chair of the Jakarta DPRD.

"Anies and PKS are also identical. Don't look at it later, how come this is the governor, the deputy governor, the chairman of the DPRD taken, all bought up. It's a bit difficult for that," said the former chairman of the NasDem Faction at the DKI Jakarta DPRD.
