NasDem Tak Jagokan Sahroni Di Pilkada Jakarta, Surya Paloh: Saya Cari Yang Terbaik

Chairman of the NasDem Party, Surya Paloh, gave a signal that he would not win the General Treasurer, Ahmad Sahroni, to run in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada. Paloh said he was looking for the best to be promoted as a candidate for governor of Jakarta. Paloh initially questioned Sahroni's readiness if he wanted to run in the Jakarta gubernatorial election. "Let's check first, is Sahroni ready or not? Are you ready physically and ready for the field too, just uncertain join, just head overturned, what are you saying," said Surya Paloh at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, June 24.

However, if Sahroni is ready, said Surya Paloh, then NasDem will see his opportunity. Because according to Paloh, NasDem does not need cadres to be nominated but rather the best figure.

"Yes, we'll see the probabilities first. NasDem doesn't always prioritize this nomination problem in the aspect of the only approach of cadres. I'm looking for what is best, and there are two things that are always NasDem references to place its final choice, meaning definitive. One electability factor, right, the two capabilities. That's clear, Paloh. General Treasurer NasDem Ahmad Sahroni said defeating former West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil in the Jakarta gubernatorial election is very easy. Famous alone is not enough as capital to progress because residents have different characteristics.

This was conveyed by Sahroni during a consolidation event for the structure of the NasDem Party in the context of evaluating the 2024 General Election and strengthening the preparation structure for the Jakarta Regional Head Election, Sunday, June 23. He said Jakarta residents had a more modern mind.

"That's why I once said that against Ridwan Kamil it was very easy. It was very easy. Why? Because Jakarta is different. All people are modern. And not people like other areas," said Sahroni of the NasDem State Defense Academy, Jakarta.

Sahroni also said that Jakarta residents were more complex because of the many problems they faced. The capital of money and being famous is not enough based on his experience as a candidate for the DPR RI for the Jakarta III electoral district.

"So it's not just that he's famous, but he's at authentic voters," he said.

"Only the DPR has not received it because Jakarta is not easy. Having money is not necessarily finished. Moreover, it doesn't have money. It's not getting worse. And this is the rhetoric of Jakarta," continued the deputy chairman of Commission III of the DPR RI.
