JAKARTA - Donald Trump's campaign in the 2024 United States Presidential Election was injected with funds amounting to IDR 50 million US dollars or around IDR 823 billion.
Citing the BBC, federal reports say the injection of funds for Trump's campaign stems from conservative billionaire Timothy Mellon who is the heir to the Mellon banking family based in Pittsburgh.
The Super-Pac fund, called "MAGA Inc", has been reported by the Federal General Election Commission (KPU) by Trump.
Trump also received an injection of USD 68 million or approximately IDR 1.1 trillion last month, in order to reclaim the seat of US President again.
US media reported that Mellon sent donations to the campaign the day after Trump was found guilty of 34 counts of falsifying business records in a trial in a closed-out case in New York.
Mellon is also the largest donor for independent presidential candidate Robert F Kennedy Jr. He is noted to have given at least US$20 million to the pro-Kennedy Super-Pac American Values Group.
Super-Pacs is known to be an independent "political action committee" that raises unlimited amounts of funds to support candidates in the 2024 US Presidential Election.
