2 Gold Miners In South Aceh Killed In Landslides

Two gold miners in South Aceh District, Aceh died, trapped by landslides at the gold mine site

ACEH - Two gold miners in Aceh Selatan District, Aceh died, trapped by landslides at the gold mine site of PT Pinang Sejati Utama, in the Simpang Dua Village, Kemukiman Manggamat, Kluet Tengah.

The two victims who died were Alkindi Nur (47) and Muswardi (27).

"It is true, there are two residents who died at the mine site. This case is currently under investigation", said Head Kluet Tengah Police Iptu Jamaluddin quoted by Antara, Tuesday, March 16.

Some victims suffered injuries including Razali (36), Al Hafid Danil Ulia (21), and Satriwan.

Meanwhile, three other miners managed to survive after previously managed to escape when the incident occurred.

Iptu Jamaluddin explained that the landslide incident was thought to have occurred due to the collapsing of the roof of the hole dug by the miners.

At the time of the incident, several people also tried to dig at the scene, by digging the ground which had hoarded several workers.

"Some of the victims were taken to the Public Health Center Manggamat South Aceh for further treatment", he said.
