BOGOR - The Bogor City Government, West Java, this year has budgeted for a gradual rejuvenation of waste trucks for the Environmental Service (DLH).

Head of DLH Bogor City Denni Wismanto said as many as 50 percent of the total 130 DLH garbage trucks needed rejuvenation because 50 percent of the total garbage trucks were over 10 years old.

Denni said the rejuvenation was carried out in stages from year to year. However, efforts to rejuvenate this DLH garbage truck will be prioritized.

"It's gradual, we can't finish the budget for a year. But yesterday (the acting mayor) has prioritized our rejuvenation in stages," said Deni, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, June 21.

Bogor City Regional Secretary Syarifah Sofiah said that the rejuvenation of the DLH garbage truck will be carried out to see the ability of the Bogor City Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD).

Syarifah also ensured that the Bogor City Government strives to buy new garbage transport trucks every year.

He did not know in detail how much each unit's garbage truck costs. Not only trucks with large capacities, but also small trucks that can reach narrow alleys in residential areas.

"In Bogor City, you must have a large and small capacity truck," he said.

Acting Mayor of Bogor Hery Antasari, previously found a limited number of garbage transport fleets, there were no reserves. In fact, most of them are on average six to years of age with minimal maintenance.

Hery will discuss with the Regional Government Budget Team the plan to rejuvenate the garbage transport fleet in Bogor City, and medium-term solutions in changes to the 2024 budget and a more fundamental, systemic and sustainability length for the next mayor.
