Son-in-Law Rizieq Shihab Hanif Alatas' Session Is Also Postponed

JAKARTA - The panel of judges at the East Jakarta District Court (PN) decided to postpone the trial of the swab test case with the defendant Muhammad Hanif Alatas. The reason was that the defendant was not present at the trial.

The postponement of the trial began when the presiding judge Khadwanto opened the trial. The judge then invited the prosecutor to present the defendant. However, the prosecutor said that he was still trying to bring the defendant together.

"What started by the panel of judges is that our officers at the Criminal Investigation Unit are still trying to bring the defendant in. But at this point we cannot but we are still trying," said the prosecutor at the trial at the East Jakarta District Court, Tuesday, March 16.

Hearing this statement, the presiding judge Khadwanto decided to postpone the trial. Because the public prosecutor was deemed unable to present the defendant.

"The public prosecutor cannot present the defendant in the audio-visual chair room by the panel will be considered unable to present the defendant," he said.

"So that the trial will be postponed to give the public prosecutor the opportunity to bring the defendant back," continued Khadwanto.

The trial with the defendant Muhamad Hanif Alatas will be held on Friday, March 19.
