A train undergoing trials by state rail company Chile (EFE) collided with a cargo train operated by private rail company Fepasa, EFE said in a statement quoted by Reuters on Thursday, June 20.

The accident occurred right after midnight in the San Bernardo area.

The EFE said the train collided with the Fepasa train with a capacity of eight carriages loaded with 1,346 tons of copper.

The EFE said the injured test train crew was being handled by the medical. Local law enforcement is conducting an investigation regarding this train accident, local media said.
