JAKARTA - Russian drone attacks damaged the energy infrastructure in central Ukraine and injured two people in the western region of Lviv, Ukrainian authorities said.

The Ministry of Energy said via the Telegram messaging application that emergency services had been deployed to the site of the attack and repair of damaged electrical equipment in the western region of Lviv was underway.

Russian troops launched five drones to attack the Lviv region bordering Poland, a NATO member, injuring two people, according to Lviv regional governor Maksym Kozytskyi.

Kozytskyi said on Telegram the five drones were destroyed by Ukraine's air defense system. Damage and injury were caused by debris falling.

A drone strike inā–duniahiv village in the Lviv city district damaged a multi-story residential building.

Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi said the attack also damaged the animal drug research institute at Lviv.

The Ukrainian air force said it destroyed 19 of the 21 Russian-launched drones in six Ukrainian territories.
