Rizieq Shihab: My Trial Is Not Fake, So It Is An International Concern

JAKARTA - Habib Rizieq Shihab continues to insist on being presented at trial for the case that charged him at the East Jakarta District Court.

"My trial is not fake, it is in the national and international concern", Rizieq said in a virtual session, Jakarta, Tuesday, March 16.

Thus, Rizieq Shihab asked the panel of judges to accommodate his wish to be presented at the trial. Because he was looking for justice.

According to Rizieq Shihab, being present at the trial will make the proceedings easier. Does not depend on technology. Moreover, he has written to the Supreme Court to be presented at the trial.

"I really hope that the request can be granted. I say thank you very much, God willing, I will follow this until it is finished as well as possible. Once again please, please, and please our request is granted to present me at the trial.

"We will stop the debate, hopefully, the judges can make wise decisions. The whole world is currently watching us", he said.

Then, he said, the trial which was conducted in virtual was also prone to sabotage. "At any time this technology can be sabotaged. So online is very detrimental to me as a defendant", said Rizieq.

However, Rizieq Shihab's trial in the Petamburan crowd case was postponed. The reason is bad, inaudible online trial audio.

"The trial was adjourned on Friday, March 19 at 9 o'clock", said the presiding judge at East Jakarta District Court, Tuesday, March 16.

In today's online trial, Rizieq Shihab was at the Police Criminal Investigation Unit. Meanwhile, judges, prosecutors, and Rizieq Shihab's team of lawyers are at the East Jakarta District Court.

From the beginning of the trial, voices were echoing and intermittent. Rizieq repeatedly complained about the audio because the voice of the lawyer's team was not heard.
