Main Public Safety, PLN Ready To Take Firm Action Against Electric Cable Thieves

PLN emphasized its commitment to protecting public assets and safety by taking firm action against perpetrators of theft of power lines. Recently, several cases of cable theft have been found in a number of assets belonging to PLN by unknown individuals. This action not only harms the community but is also very dangerous for the perpetrators of the theft themselves.

The theft of high-voltage power lines can cause the perpetrator to be electrocuted to cause death. In addition, this theft can cause electrical disturbances that have the potential to cause large-scale power outages or even fires around the location of the theft.

Lasiran, General Manager of PLN Jakarta Distribution Main Unit, appealed to the people of Jakarta and its surroundings to immediately report to PLN if they find suspicious individuals around PLN assets, such as poles and power lines, transformers, and electricity substations.

"Our officers always wear uniforms, identification, and personal protective equipment. If there are suspicious individuals who pretend to be our officers, the public can immediately report them to PLN Mobile," explained Lasiran.

PLN emphasized that the theft of these assets is very dangerous and will take firm action against the arrested perpetrators.

"Public safety is our top priority. We do not hesitate to report the perpetrators of theft to the authorities so that they can be processed legally," said Lasiran.

The public can report suspicious actions around PLN assets through the PLN Mobile application, which is available on the Google Play Store and App Store. In addition, reports can also be submitted through the PLN 123 Contact Center.
