Head Of BPIP: The Spirit Of Eid Is One Way To Realize National Reconciliation

Head of the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP) Yudian Wahyudi said the spirit of Eid al-Adha 1445 Hijri is one way to realize national reconciliation.

"Eiduladha is one way to realize national reconciliation," he said in a written statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, June 18.

Yudian explained that the momentum of Eid which is marked by the slaughter of sacrificial animals can be interpreted as an effort to eliminate the ego in each individual.

In the sacrifice, he said, there are two passions related to the horizontal aspect, namely relationships with nature preservation and relationships with humans (society).

"Kurban is a symbol of sincerity," he said.

He emphasized that the sacrifice serves as a means to share which reflects the spirit of mutual cooperation in it.

"This is also a symbol of sharing, giving something very valuable, namely meat. Traditionally, Eid is part of the spirit of gotong royong," he asserted.

The moment of Eid al-Fitr 2024, according to him, is not just a religious ritual, but also an opportunity to teach sincerity and share in society.

BPIP carried out the slaughter of sacrificial animals in Lebaran Besar 2024 at the Office of the Nahdlatul Ulama Family Benefit Institute (LKKNU), Central Jakarta, Monday (17/6).

LKKNU slaughters the qurban with a total of 23 animals, consisting of 18 goats and 5 cows.
