Mother And Mother Bring The Poster Of 'Free Rizieq' To The East Jakarta District Court

JAKARTA - A number of supporters of the former Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) frontman Habib Rizieq Shihab continued to arrive at the East Jakarta District Court, Tuesday, March 16.

A number of these masses were dominated by mothers. At first they forced their way into the East Jakarta District Court. However they are not allowed to enter. The officers dispelled them.

Initially, there was an action of shoving between the masses and the officers. The police asked the mothers not to force themselves to enter the court area. This is to avoid crowds and keep health protocols in place during a pandemic.

A number of these 'mothers' were observed carrying posters that read 'Free Habib Rizieq'

The echoes of the selawat also answered each other at the location of the Habib Rizieq Shihab trial at the East Jakarta District Court. "Allahumma sholli 'ala sayyidina muhammad wa asyghilidz dzolimin bidz dzolimin wa akhrijna min bainihim salimin wa' ala taki wa shohbihi ajma'iin," they chanted the prophet's salawat.

Even though the trial was held virtually, Habib Rizieq will undergo a trial from the Bareskrim Detention Center. However, field monitoring at the East Jakarta District Court on security from elements of the TNI-Polri appears to be tighter than usual.

Apart from security from TNI-Polri officers, X Ray devices were also seen to be provided at the entrance to the court. Every visitor who wants to enter East Jakarta District Court will be checked.

Karo Penmas, Public Relations Division of the National Police, Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono, said that his party had prepared 658 personnel for security at the East Jakarta District Court.
