JAKARTA - The inaugural trial for the alleged violation of the health protocol (prokes) with the defendant Rizieq Shihab will be held at the East Jakarta District Court (PN) Tuesday, March 16. The security around was tightened.

Based on VOI's monitoring, several officers from the TNI-Polri were on standby right in front of the gates of the East Jakarta District Court. Even some of them were fully armed.

In addition, it appears that two security officers from internal PN are also on guard. They check every visitor who will enter the court environment.

Inside the court area, security is getting tight. This is because the police deployed two K-9 dogs who kept on walking around. In addition, dozens of Sabhara members were also seen on guard at every point.

Meanwhile, supporters of Rizieq Shihab are almost completely invisible.

An internal PN security officer also said that until 08.30 WIB, he did not see any supporters of Rizieq Shihab arriving.

Previously, the National Police Public Relations Division Karo Penmas, Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono, said the trial was held virtually with Rizieq Shihab's position following the trial from Bareskrim.

"Even so, the Police are preparing troops for security at the East Jakarta District Court. There are about 658 personnel who will secure the MRS trial activities which will start tomorrow. Once again, in a virtual trial, the community must be understood, "said Brigadier General Rusdi.

To sympathizers or supporters of Rizieq Shihab, the National Police reminded that the trial was held virtual. The panel of judges who are at the East Jakarta District Court will conduct a teleconference with Rizieq Shihab at Bareskrim.

"This means that MRS will remain at the Bareskrim Polri to carry out the trial, it is better for whoever will attend the trial, do it according to the applicable regulations. Because the trial is virtual, activities will be conducted virtually too. So the people still follow that, so the MRS remains at the Police Criminal Investigation Unit, the activities are at the East Jakarta District Court, "said Brigadier General Rusdi.

For information, in the indictment, the Rizieq Shihab case registered Number 221 / Pid.B / 2021 / PN.Jkt. Team. Rizieq Shihab was charged with five articles of the indictment.
