Misunderstanding, Ojol Driver Slashed By A Machete By A Youth In Makassar

MAKASSAR - An online motorcycle taxi driver (ojol) in Makassar City, South Sulawesi, was slashed with a machete by a young man on Pampang Street, Panakkukang District, Makassar City, South Sulawesi, Wednesday, June 12 evening.

As a result of the attack, the victim named Iwan suffered injuries to his shoulder and had to undergo medical treatment at the hospital.

"The victim was slashed in the shoulder twice," said Dantim Resmob of the Panakkukang Police, Bripka Zulqadri, Thursday, June 13.

After receiving information from the public, officers immediately arrested the perpetrator Muhamad Iksan (19) while hiding in one of the residents' houses.

"We conducted an investigation and succeeded in arresting the perpetrator who was hiding in one of the houses," he said.

The victim's colleague, the ojol driver, who knew the perpetrator of the attack had been arrested by the police and then flocked to the Panakukang Police Station. They allegedly wanted to judge the perpetrator for revenge.

Luckily, the police managed to calm down the victim's colleagues. Temporary suspicion, the cause of the attack was motivated by a misunderstanding between the perpetrator and the victim when they were about to deliver orders around the scene.

"We are still investigating the motive first, allegedly a misunderstanding," he said.
