Coal Boss Said Amin Absent From KPK Call Regarding The Case Of Former Kukar Regent Rita Widyasari

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) canceled examining the coal mining boss, Said Amin at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta on Monday, June 10. The Commissioner of PT Core Energy Resource was absent from the schedule determined by investigators.

"The information we received from the investigative team, the witness was not present at the scheduled examination," said KPK Spokesperson Team Budi Prasetyo, quoted on Wednesday, June 12.

Budi did not specify the reason for the absence. In fact, the employer's statement was needed to investigate the alleged gratification and money laundering that ensnared the former Kutai Regent Kertanegara Rita Widyasari.

"We are updating again regarding if there will be a fall in the future," he said.

The summons for Said was made after his house in Samarinda, East Kalimantan was ransacked by investigators some time ago. From the forced attempt, dozens of luxury cars allegedly related to Rita's fraudulent practice were found.

As previously reported, Rita Widyasari was named a suspect along with Commissioner of PT Media Bangun Bersama, Khairudin on January 16, 2018. Both are suspected of washing money from the results of project and licensing gratuities at the Kutai Kertanegara Provincial Government worth Rp436 billion.

In this case, hundreds of vehicles consisting of cars and motorbikes up to billions of rupiah have been confiscated by investigators from searches in Jakarta, Samarinda City to Kutai Kertanegara Regency.

In detail, there are 72 cars and 32 motorbikes; land and buildings in six locations; and money in rupiah denominations amounting to Rp6.7 billion and Rp2 billion in US dollar denominations and others.

Then documents and electronic evidence were also confiscated. The amount reaches hundreds which will then be analyzed to shed light on the case that ensnared Rita.
