DENPASAR - Head of Intensive Hospital Intensive Care Installation Ngoerah Denpasar I Putu Kurniayanta stated that 13 victims of the LPG warehouse fire in Denpasar, Bali, were still in critical condition due to serious burns.

"We are still treating 13 patients, all of them are still critical, we are still trying to stabilize their condition, because the burns obtained are very heavy," he said, Tuesday, June 11.

Of the total patients treated by 16 people, three of them have died.

"Of the 13 patients, 12 were with the help of a breathing apparatus, because the trauma problem of the explosion also affected the upper airway, because the upper airway was swollen, making it difficult for him to breathe," he said.

Kurniayanta said it was possible that one would also be assisted by a breathing apparatus because his condition was still unstable.

He explained that the patient was critical because of the explosion wound which was quite hard, so that it entered the upper airway, thus affecting the respiratory system.

"From other organ systems, because the burns were quite extensive, there was a shock from the entire channel of the body, then the body's protection of the injured skin became absent, so a lot of fluid came out," he said.

Then, the condition of the lungs of the patients is still not very good because it is related to inflammation or inflammation due to hot vapor entering through the nose and then burning to the lungs.

Therefore, to stabilize the patient's condition, his party provides liquid.

Meanwhile, the plastic surgeon at RSUP Prof. Ngoerah dr. I Gusti Putu Hendra Sanjaya said, the severity of the burns of the patients was 30 percent and the highest was 70 percent. Such conditions were the same when the Bali bomb exploded some time ago.

He said the entire patient would be assisted every day from the general improvement of conditions, both in terms of medicines and fluids.

"If later the condition slowly repairs lower burns, then surgery will be carried out to repair the wound, if there are more than 60 percent of the 13 people, there will be 12 people," he said.
