JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has denied allegations of politics in investigating the Harun Masiku case as conveyed by Ronny Talapessy, who is Kusnadi's attorney, staff of the PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto.

This was conveyed by the KPK Spokesperson Team Budi Prasetyo when asked about Hasto's objections regarding the confiscation of notebooks containing PDIP's strategy to face the 2024 Pilkada. The anti-corruption commission said it was impossible to check and confiscate goods if it was not related to the case being investigated.

"KPK is focused on the law enforcement process," Budi told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, June 11.

Budi also said that the examination of Hasto was a continuation of the previous three witnesses. The three are relatives of Harun who are still at large.

"We also said that this examination was not something that suddenly happened," he said.

"But it was also motivated by the examination of three previous witnesses and it became a continuation to extract information, completeness of information needed by the investigative team," continued Budi.

Previously reported, Ronny Talapessy accused the KPK of having other intentions when examining PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto. Confiscation of an agenda book containing party strategic records against the 2024 Pilkada could be one of the motives.
