Member Of The House Of Representatives Guspardi Gaus Angry At The KPU-Bawaslu Who Was Considered Not Serious During The Meeting

JAKARTA - Member of Commission II of the DPR from the PAN faction, Guspardi Gaus, considers the General Election Commission (KPU) and the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) not to be serious about attending a meeting to discuss the budget with Commission II of the DPR.

Because, of the seven KPU commissioners, only three attended the meeting. Meanwhile, Bawaslu was represented only by his chairman, Rahmat Bagja.

"This RDP (AUDIence meeting) is a meeting on budget discussions. This is the fifth year for us, especially I partner with the KPU and Bawaslu. It was only today that I saw that both the KPU and Bawaslu showed their lack of seriousness in facing this RDP," said Guspardi in a meeting in the House of Representatives Commission II room, Monday, June 10.

The West Sumatra electoral district PAN legislator assessed that all KPU and Bawaslu commissioners should have been present in full at the meeting discussing the budget. He reminded that KPU and Bawaslu cannot only be represented by their chairman. This is because the nature of the KPU and Bawaslu leaders is collegial collective.

"This KPU is a head, not a head. Its nature is a collegial collective. The issue related to financial accountability cannot only be shed on the chairman," explained Guspardi.

Guspardi is getting worse because Bawaslu is only represented by Rahmat Bagja. Meanwhile, the other four members were absent from the meeting. Not to mention the explanation material from Bawaslu which he considered unclear.

"The second is even more tragic Bawaslu, only the only chairman is present. It's slicing this," said Guspardi.

Guspardi also asked the KPU and Bawaslu to pay more attention to the issue of attendance in the next meetings. He also reminded that the meeting schedule had been notified well in advance.

"This means that what I want to convey is professional in responding to what we are discussing. This is a technical problem regarding the continuity of the meeting," he said.
