Muhammadiyah Affirms Not To Be In A Hurry Against Mining Concession

JAKARTA - General Secretary of Muhammadiyah Central Executive Abdul Mu'ti emphasized that his organization will not be in a hurry regarding the mining concession offered by the government. "There will be no hasty response or acceptance of the mining concession. The non-governmental Islamic religious organization confirms that it will review everything from various aspects and a thorough point of view. "The decision is entirely in the hands of the Muhammadiyah Central Leadership. Religious organizations managing mines are not automatic, but through business entities accompanied by requirements that must be met," said Abdul.

Based on previous reports, Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadilia stated that he would soon issue a coal processing mining business permit (IUP) for the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) to optimize the role of religious organizations. According to him, President Joko Widodo has agreed and will provide coal concessions with large reserves to PBNU to be managed in order to optimize the organization.
