Arrested By Police, Chairman Of PSI Batam Consumption Of Methamphetamine-Excise Since 2011

BATAM - Barelang Police, Riau Islands said the chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) DPD Batam City had been consuming methamphetamine and ecstasy since 2011.

Head of Public Relations of the Barelang Police, AKP Tigor Sidabaribiba, said that previously his party arrested the chairman of the PSI DPD with the initials S, along with two of his colleagues, namely AH, and SN.

The evidence found by the police during the arrest was in the form of methamphetamine weighing 0.52 grams.

"Suspect S admitted to consuming ecstasy and methamphetamine since 2011. The main substance used is currently dependence on methamphetamine," said Tigor, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, June 7.

The three suspects were handed over to the Riau Islands National Narcotics Agency (BNNP).

"Based on the results of the examination of the suspects and the BB found, it was decided that the three were only users. So the suspects were handed over to the Riau Islands BNNP to undergo a rehabilitation process for 6 months," he said.

Previously, for the case that ensnared the Chairman of the Batam City PSI DPD, the Chairperson of the Riau Islands PSI DPW, Anto Duha, said he would give strict sanctions if found guilty, by withdrawing the Membership Card (KTA) and dishonorably dismissal.

"The information we got was that one of our cadres was arrested by the Narcotics Satreskrim. From this information, the Riau Islands PSI DPW has taken steps. So we PSI DPW will give dishonorable dismissal and revoke the KTA. We will immediately do it," said Anto.
