Ukrainian Military Shooting Down 5 Missiles And 48 Drones Russian Attack

JAKARTA - The Ukrainian air force shot down five missiles and 48 of 53 drones in nine regions during the Russian attack.

Russian troops attacked the Kyiv region with Kh-101/Kh-555 drones and missiles, causing fires at one of the industrial facilities, according to the governor. Emergency services work to extinguish the fire on Friday, June 7, with no casualties reported.

Kharkiv regional governor Syniehubov said the drone strike destroyed windows on three residential buildings, damaged shops and post offices, and other local infrastructure.

Three drones were destroyed in the Dnipropximsk area, the governor said. Governor Kirovohrad said the attack caused no damage in his area after the military reported shooting down a drone. Governor Khmelnytskyi also reported no damage, and said the air force shot down 11 targets in his area.

Ukrainian military calls

seven drones were shot down in the southern region of Odesa, three others were shot down in the Kherson area and two more in the Mykolaiv region.

The attack did not damage any energy infrastructure, Ukraine's Deputy Energy Minister Mykola Kolisnyk said on national television.

Russia is increasingly targeting Ukraine's energy infrastructure this spring in a combined attack that resulted in damage to power generation capacity, causing power outages across the country.
