Lawsuit For Cancellation Of Several PPP Election Results Is Granted, Attorney For Apreation Of The Constitutional Court

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Legal Team of the United Development Party (PPP) Erfandi appreciated the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) Judge for the dispute over the legislative election for the 2024 General Election.

"I hope that the decisions of the Constitutional Court that occurred in Tarakan, North Kalimantan, Indragiri Hulu, and Gorontalo that granted the PPP lawsuit, are respected and must be obeyed by the General Elections Commission (KPU)," he said in a written statement in Jakarta, Thursday, June 6, quoted from ANTARA, Junat, June 7.

He explained that the Constitutional Court's decision was of the same nature as the omnes that tied the parties and were final and binding. Therefore, the Constitutional Court's decision has provided a sense of justice to the community.

"We have fought with respect in this legislative case. To maintain the dignity of our clients, even if there are parties who feel aggrieved or benefit from this Constitutional Court decision, we respect it as democratization in a state of law," he explained.

According to him, what is very phenomenal in the Constitutional Court's decision is the granting of the PPP lawsuit to re-vote (PSU) in Tarakan, North Kalimantan. This disqualified the elected Golkar Party legislative candidate.

"This is a very bold decision from the Constitutional Court judge," he said.

In addition, he continued, in the lawsuit case in Indragiri Hulu, the PSU PPP application was granted by the Constitutional Court judge.

"And Alhamdulillah again, for Gorontalo, the lawsuit to be held by the PSU was also granted even though with the excuse that the quota of 30 percent of women was not fulfilled," he said.

Furthermore, Erfandi hopes that all parties will accept whatever has been decided by the Constitutional Court judge.

"Of course the Constitutional Court's decision cannot satisfy all parties but as good citizens we respect the decision," he hoped.
