50 Elected Candidates For Depok City Announced By KPU, PKS Unggul

The Depok City General Election Commission has announced 50 elected members of the DPRD in the 2024 legislative election (Pileg) by issuing a decree.

Depok City KPU chairman Wili Sumarlin in Depok, Thursday, June 6, said that the granting of the decree was for the basis of submitting candidates for mayor and deputy mayor in simultaneous regional head elections (Pilkada).

"The decree on the determination of the elected Depok DPRD members from the KPU is also the basis for the submission of a candidate for mayor and deputy mayor of Depok," said Wili, quoted from ANTARA, Friday, June 7.

The party requirements for carrying out the mayor and deputy mayor candidates must be 20 percent of the total seats in the Depok City DPRD as many as 50 seats.

"At least 10 seats, if not 10 seats, must form a coalition with other parties," he said.

Wili revealed that only one party can carry the mayor and deputy mayor candidates as a result of the 2024 legislative election, namely PKS.

"For now, only one party carries a candidate for mayor and deputy mayor without forming a coalition with other parties," said Wili.

Wili added that the 50 decrees for determining the elected members of the Depok DPRD were handed over. One member of the elected DPRD died from the PKS party, namely Farida Rahmayanti.

"Later there will be a mechanism for interim replacement (PAW) of selected members who died. We are waiting from the Depok PKS DPD. For the submission, a decree will be changed," said Wili.
