Israeli Army Expands Attack On Rafah, Moving To Central Gaza

JAKARTA - The Israeli army on Wednesday expanded its attack on the Rafah in the southernmost part of the Gaza Strip, along with their movement to the eastern regions of the Bureij and Maghazi refugee camps, in the central part of the Gaza Strip.

As reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 5, an Anadolu correspondent quoted eyewitnesses as confirming the movement of Israeli military vehicles towards the "Eastern Garage" area and around the Al-Awda Mosque in central Rafah.

Witnesses said the Israeli army movement took place amid Israeli heavy artillery fire in Rafah.

In Khan Younis, Israeli soldiers launched an attack on Qarara City, eastern part of Khan Younis City, according to reporter Anadolu.

In the central Gaza Strip, Israeli soldiers also launched attacks on the eastern regions of the refugee camps of Bureij and Maghazi with heavy artillery firings resulting in casualties among Palestinians.

The Ministry of Health has not confirmed the number of victims in the area.

Israel has continued its brutal attacks on the Gaza Strip since the Hamas attack on October 7, despite UN Security Council resolutions demanding an immediate ceasefire.

More than 36,500 Palestinians in Gaza, most of whom were women and children, have died, and nearly 83 thousand others have been injured, according to local health authorities.

Nearly eight months after Israel's war, much of Gaza's territory was devastated amid a crippling blockade on access to food, clean water, and medicines.

Israel is accused of committing genocide at the International Court, which in its latest ruling ordered Tel Aviv to immediately stop its operations in Rafah, where more than one million Palestinians sought refuge from war before they were attacked on May 6.
