Koops Habema Contacts With OPM Kalenka Murib In Puncak Papua Tengah

TIMIKA - Operational Command (Koops) of the Habema TNI has armed contact with the Free Papua Organization (OPM) group led by Kalenah Murib in Sinak District, Puncak Regency, Central Papua.

The Commander of the Joint Defense Region III Command (Pangkopwilhan III) Lt. Gen. Richard TH Tampubolon said on Monday (3/6) the group carried out acts of terror against the community in the Sinak Market area.

"This OPM group led by Kalenyak Murib started its action by suppressing and terrorizing the community in Sinak Market, Puncak Regency," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 5.

According to Richard, one of the armed OPM members is known as Dombol Murib who is the younger brother of Kalenya Murib, this person forces and asks for food and public money.

"This group is very disturbing to the community because they are asking forcibly, and if it is not obeyed it will be persecuted," he said.

He explained that the people around Sinak Market panicked and ran to report this condition to the security forces, and swiftly the Habema TNI Koops troops headed to the location of the action.

"Indeed, at that time the Habema TNI Koops troops were quite close to the Sinak Market location, because they were securing the construction of the Joint Post of the TNI Headquarters Faskon Unit," he said.

The OPM group led by Kaleng Murib fled through a river to Nigilome Village with his colleague who was shot by Koops TNI Habema.

The Habema TNI Koops troops succeeded in taking action against the OPM group led by Kalenya Murib in the Sinak Dsitric as an effort to create regional security to accelerate Papua's development.
