MATARAM - Mataram City Police (Polresta), West Nusa Tenggara, arrested a woman who is an employee of the prosecutor's office with the initials BW for involvement in cases of alleged fraud and embezzlement of four-wheeled vehicles.

"We arrested BW, who is an employee of the prosecutor's office, today based on the follow-up to reports from residents from Sekarbela," said Head of the Mataram Police Satreskrim Kompol I Made Yogi Purusa Utama as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, June 4.

In the report, the administrative staff at the NTB High Prosecutor's Office was suspected of committing fraud and embezzlement by renting a four-wheeled vehicle belonging to the complainant.

Yogi explained that the BW perpetrator launched the action by renting a two-day reporting vehicle for personal gain. The perpetrator rented it at a price of Rp. 300 thousand per day.

"It turned out that the lease continued until the complainant wanted to use his vehicle. When he wanted to ask for his unit (vehicle) back, this perpetrator could not return it because he admitted that he had pawned it to someone else," he said.

To the police, BW admitted to pawning the complainant's vehicle for Rp. 35 million. The reporting vehicle was pawned to a person with the initials M who lives in Central Lombok Regency.

"As a result, we traced the whereabouts of the reporting vehicle and found it in Central Lombok. We have secured the unit (vehicle) at the office from the community who also received a pawn from M," he said.

Currently M who received a pawn from BW is now on the police wanted list.

"So, M is involved in this case. Now he is on the wanted list because of his nomadial position, moving around," he said.

Apart from M, Yogi said that another perpetrator was also involved in this case, namely a woman with the initials Y.

"The role of Y is as an intermediary who introduced BW to M," he said.

Yogi emphasized that his party had detained BW and Y by referring to criminal charges in Article 372 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 378 of the Criminal Code.

"So, we have named BW and Y as suspects, so we will proceed to detention," he said.

Regarding the role of one of the perpetrators being an employee of the prosecutor's office, Yogi emphasized that his party had coordinated with the NTB Prosecutor's Office.

"In this case, we immediately coordinated with the Assistant Supervisory of the NTB Prosecutor's Office," said Yogi.
