Defense Minister Prabowo Reviewed The Installation Of Clean Water Pipes In Gunungkidul

GUNUNGKIDUL - Minister of Defense (Menhan) Prabowo Subianto accompanied by the Regent of Gunungkidul, Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), Sunaryanta directly inspected the installation of clean water pipes in Banyusoco Village, Playen District.

The Chancellor of the Defense University (IDU) Lt. Gen. Jonni Mahroza in his presentation said that one of the reasons for the new irrigation was to help with irrigation in the agricultural sector of residents of the Gunungkidul Regency.

"We hope to harvest twice a year. The assistance comes from Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, June 3.

Jonni said this program is the result of research and exploration carried out by the Water Task Force (Satgas) of the Defense University as part of their community service program.

"This assistance will be used by as many as 1,500 heads of families (KK)," he said.

He also said that during 2023 the Air Defense Task Force had found water sources and built clean water installations in more than 130 locations spread across various regions in Indonesia, one of which was in Gunungkidul Regency.

"We managed to provide this assistance, one of which was in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Yogyakarta, West Java, Southwest Maluku, and Banten," he said.

After the presentation from the Rector of the Defense University, Defense Minister Prabowo took the time to see firsthand the use of water not far from the location. The elected president also invited the village head or village head of Banyusoca to take advantage of the available assistance.
