CILACAP - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Cilacap Regency, Central Java, has again distributed clean water assistance to residents affected by drought in a number of villages.

"After two weeks there has been no request for clean water assistance, since last weekend we have again distributed clean water assistance to residents affected by drought," said Head of Emergency and Logistics Division of BPBD Cilacap Regency Budi Setyawan, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, June 3.

In this case, on Saturday, June 1, his party distributed three tanks of clean water, namely two tanks for residents of Cimrutu Village in Patimuan District, and one tank for residents of Rawapu Village in Patimuan District.

Furthermore, on Sunday, June 2, his party distributed clean water assistance to residents of Gintungreja Village in Gandrungmangu District and Rawapu Village in Patimuan District, each with one tank.

"Thus, until now we have distributed nine tanks of clean water to residents in five villages, namely Bojong Village in Kawunganten District, Karanggintung and Gintungreja Villages in Districts, as well as Cimrutu and Rawapu Villages in Patimuan District," he said.

In this regard, he appealed to residents affected by drought to be efficient in using clean water and using clean water as needed.

According to him, the clean water assistance was taken from a suitable water source to meet the needs of residents.

Asked about the possibility of a plan to distribute clean water aid on Monday (3/6), he said that for the time being there has been no request for clean water assistance submitted by the village government affected by drought, so there is no plan for distribution of aid on Monday (3/6).

"Incidentally last night, Alhamdulillah there was rain, and usually residents in some areas collect rainwater to meet their daily needs," he said.

However, Budi said the Cilacap Regency BPBD was in principle ready to distribute clean water assistance to residents affected by drought, as long as the local village government submitted a letter of request for assistance.
