Make Sure To Be Cooperative, Febri Diansyah Present At The SYL Session Today

JAKARTA - Former spokesman for the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Febri Diansyah confirmed that he would be present as a witness at the alleged extortion and gratification trial that ensnared former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo today, Monday, June 3. He has confirmed to the Public Prosecutor (JPU) at the KPK.

"Of course I have confirmed my attendance through the prosecutor's admin," said Febri in a written statement received by VOI, Monday, June 3.

Febri said he had received a summons from the prosecutor on Saturday afternoon, June 1. Thus, he is cooperative that he will be present at the Jakarta Corruption Court.

"This is a form of implementing legal obligations, cooperative attitudes and respect for the KPK prosecutors who carry out their duties in the ongoing legal process," he said.

"As additional information, I received the letter via post on Saturday afternoon, June 1, 2024," continued the lawyer who had accompanied Syahrul.

Previously reported, the KPK prosecutor planned to present a number of witnesses in the trial of alleged extortion and gratuities that ensnared former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo, including former KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah.

"The prosecutor's team will present witnesses," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters quoted on Monday, June 3.

Apart from Febri, the prosecutor also summoned other witnesses. They are Dhirgaraya S. Santo who is General Manager of Radio Prambors Media or PT Bayureksa and Head of the Ministry of Agriculture's Education and Development Agency Dedi Nursyams.

Then he will be presented as a witness as well as Sugiyatno who is the Karugma Rumdin Minister of Agriculture; and TU staff of the Ministry of Agriculture's Agricultural Equipment and Machinery Directorate Yusgie Sevyahasana. They will later be asked for information before the judge to prove the charges against Syahrul.

In the case of extortion up to Rp44.5 billion during the 2020-2023 period.
