Golkar Bali Proposes Rai Mantra-Mulia To Advance For The 2024 Gubernatorial Election

The Bali Golkar Party DPD did not continue the survey process for prospective pairs of Governors and Deputy Governors of Bali but immediately proposed the name Ida Bagus Rai Dharmawijaya Mantra-Made Muliawan Arya.

The chairman of the Bali Golkar Party DPD, Sugawa Korry, said that the proposal for the name Mantra-Mulia had already reached an agreement for the Bali Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) consisting of 11 political parties.

"In the Golkar Party, the survey process was not carried out because no one was surveyed, what was given an assignment letter by the DPP for the governor candidate was not in progress, so what we did was propose this name," he said, Friday, May 31.

Initially, the Golkar Party DPP sent Sugawa Korry, Wayan Geredeg, and Sumarjaya Linggih, to run in the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada, but Korry decided to run in the Buleleng Regent election.

"If I myself have processed the first survey in Buleleng and the second one will only be with a package of deputy candidates, if Mr. Sumarjaya Linggih, he has an assignment letter from the governor, but he, including Mr. Geredeg, prefers not to proceed in the provincial survey," he said.

In addition to the three party cadres whose survey process was not followed up, Korry also said that the Acting Governor of Bali Sang Made Mahendra Jaya, who had been proposed as a candidate through the Golkar Party, had also not continued his survey.

"What happened in the Golkar Party to read the governor's candidate so far has not been surveyed, our condition is that first we get an assignment letter, get direction, then are willing to be surveyed, then are willing to pay the survey fee," said Korry, quoted by ANTARA.

The Deputy Chairperson of the Bali DPRD said that the cost of participating in a survey through his party was Rp. 150 million, currently the only one that has been processed and is still continuing is the candidate from the district/city elections.

Meanwhile, the mantras themselves did not undergo the Golkar Party-style survey process, because according to him this is a candidate for a joint proposal that has been taken into account along with 10 other coalition members.

Even though in the plenary meeting of the Bali Golkar Party DPD and regencies/cities, one of the results is regarding the proposal for Mantra-Mulia in the Bali Pilkada, they will still wait for the official decision of the central leadership council.

"In facing the election, the governor proposed the KIM Rai Mantra pair as Bacalon Governor of Bali and Made Muliawan Arya as bacalon Deputy Governor of Bali to the chairman of the Golkar Party DPP and ready to implement/follow up if the ketum gives another policy," said Korry.
