JAKARTA - The National Police headquarters (Mabes) said the Jamaah Islamiyah (JI) terrorist network had six thousand members. They consist of permanent members and investigators.

"We have told about 6,000 members of JI and its groups. Now that 6,000 is a combination of members and sympathizers," said Head of Public Relations Division of the National Police, Kombes Ahmad Ramadhan, to reporters, Friday, March 12.

With such a large number, said Ramadhan, Desus 88 Anti-terror continues to monitor the movements of JI members and sympathizers. This is because JI members are believed to have moved after the arrest of 22 suspected terrorists in the East Java region.

"Sympathizers can move, of course, Densus 88 will continue to monitor and monitor the group," he said.

On the other hand, Ramadhan said that in the near future, 22 suspected terrorists who had been arrested in several locations would be brought to Jakarta.

"Soon they will be taken to Jakarta 22 (suspected terrorists)," said Ramadhan.

As previously reported, Densus 88 Anti-terror has arrested 22 suspected terrorists from the Jamaah Islamiyah (JI) network during the past week. They were arrested in East Java.
