Approaching Nyepi Day 2021, Tourist Arrivals In Bali Increase

DENPASAR - The number of domestic tourists entering Bali ahead of Nyepi Day 2021 has increased. It is predicted that the spike will occur on Saturday, March 13.

From data from I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali, the increase in passengers coming to the Island of the Gods has occurred on Thursday, March 11 with a total of 5,876 passengers. Meanwhile, the passengers who left Bali reached 4,542 people.

"Usually on weekdays (who come to Bali) only about 3 thousand. Now around 5,000," said the Head of the Bali Tourism Office, Putu Astawa, when contacted, Friday, March 12.

It happened, an increase in passengers who came to Bali, already on Wednesday, March 10. It is estimated that this condition occurs because tourists want to enjoy the atmosphere of Nyepi Day 2021 in Bali.

Dispar Bali estimates that the increase in tourists will occur on Saturday, March 13. It is expected that the number of tourists who come to reach 7 thousand people.

"The peak is tomorrow, the hope is around 7,000 and 6,000," he hoped.

With an increase in domestic tourists coming to Bali ahead of Nyepi Day, it is hoped that Balinese products will be in demand again, although not significantly.

"Because, the souvenir places are quiet and the guides are also unemployed, there is also transportation (can). Our hope is that this increase can be indicated even though it is not significant," he explained.

"For example, with the arrival of people, they will increase their consumption of food products and souvenirs. They need various kinds of needs to come to Bali," he continued.

To be sure, tourists are asked to maintain health protocols in times of the COVID-19 pandemic.
