Polda Metro Dismantles The Practice Of Selling Child Immoral Content, A Year Of Pocketing Tens Of Millions

Suspect in IST pornography / PHOTO case

JKAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya revealed the practice of selling immoral content that makes children the actors. The sale of pornographic videos is done online.

"Revealing the case and making efforts to force the arrest of one suspect who spreads pornographic or immoral videos," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation at the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak in his statement, Thursday, May 30.

Disclosure of this case began when the police carried out cyber patrols. X's social media account, @balapcan, was found promoting pornographic content.

The findings were immediately followed up. Until finally, the suspect with the initials DY (25) was arrested.

"The arrest of the suspect at his residence in the Tarumajaya area, Bekasi," he said.

After being arrested, DY was immediately interrogated. It was revealed that the act of selling child pornography content has been carried out for more than a year.

"The suspect sold immoral videos of minors since May 2023," he said.

During the investigation, the suspect also admitted to receiving the immoral video from various sources, one of which was social media X.

He downloaded the immoral content. Then, sell it to his customers online.

"Getted from twitter, some are Indonesian but mostly abroad," said Ade.

The suspect sold the pornographic content by first promoting his personal X-diakun by embedding a link.

The link will automatically connect customers to Telegram groups with the name REAL ADMIN GROUP.

"Link connects to telegram accounts selling video content containing immoral content of minors," he said.

Profit of IDR 50 Million

If customers are interested in buying the video content, the suspect asks for a payment of Rp. 150,000 to Rp. 200 thousand through an e-wallet account or to his personal account.

"Approximately 350 buyers since May 2023," he said

If the value or price is quantized with the number of buyers, the suspect is estimated to have benefited from tens of millions.

"Approximately 50 million since May 2023," said Ade.

In this case, the suspect is charged with Article 45 paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 27 paragraph 1 of Law No. 1 of 2024 concerning the Second Amendment to the ITE Law and/or Article 4 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 29 of Law Number 44 of 2008 concerning Pornography.
