Potential Increase In COVID-19 Cases, Ministry Of Health Reminds People To Re-implement Prokes

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes), Mohammad Syahril, reminded the public to re-implement health protocols and clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS) in response to the potential increase in COVID-19 cases in the country.

"COVID-19 is not completely lost even though its current status is endemic. There is still the potential for new variants or subvariants to potentially cause an increase in cases, even deaths," Mohammad Syahril said in his statement, Wednesday, May 29.

To prevent the spread of cases, Syahril appealed to the public to continue to apply health protocols (prokes), such as washing hands, wearing masks when sick, including when in crowds.

In addition, the public is also asked to immediately complete the COVID-19 vaccination, especially in risky groups.

"Efforts to be vigilant and prevent are still the same, namely to immediately carry out complete and booster COVID-19 vaccinations, especially for the elderly and people with comorbidities," he said.

In addition, PHBS, such as diligently washing hands and doing coughing or sneezing ethics, is still relevant to prevent the transmission of cases.

"If you feel sick, you can immediately check at the nearest health facility, use a mask, and avoid coming into contact with many people," he said.

For people who want to travel outside the region or abroad, Syahril appealed to follow the health protocols implemented in the intended area.
