JAKARTA - The Indonesian House of Representatives approved four revisions of the Law (UU) as a bill for the Proposal of the DPR Initiative in the 18th Plenary Meeting of the V Session Period in 2023-2024 at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, May 28.
The four bills are the Bill on the Third Amendment to Law no. 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration, the Bill on Amendments to Law no. 39 of 2008 concerning the Ministry of State, the Bill on Amendments to Law no. 34 of 2004 concerning the Indonesian National Army (TNI), and the Bill on Amendments to 3rd Law no. 2 of 2002 concerning the Indonesian National Police (Polri).
The approval was taken after listening to the opinions of nine factions in the DPR and was knocked by the Deputy Speaker of the DPR, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, as the leader of today's plenary meeting. Dasco explained that in the revision of the Police Law, the agreement was that the retirement age limit for Indonesian police members was changed from 58 years to 60 years.
"Thus, nine factions have expressed their respective factions' opinion on the 4 bills proposed by the Legislative Body. For example, for the third amendment bill to Law Number 2 of 2002 concerning the Indonesian National Police such as NCO and Tamtama, the retirement age limit is 58, 60-year-old Officers or NCOs with the needs of organizations aged 60 years with their own mechanisms if they have special skills, the retirement age limit can be extended to a maximum of 2 years. Furthermore, said Dasco, the leadership of the DPR assigned the Legislation Body (Baleg) to submit the formulation of the bill.

Bill on the Third Amendment to Law no. 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration; Bill on Amendments to Law no. 39 of 2008 concerning the Ministry of State; Bill on Amendments to Law no. 34 of 2004 concerning the Indonesian National Army; Bill on Amendments to Law No. 2 of 2002 concerning the State Police of the Republic of Indonesia can be approved as a bill proposed initiative of the DPR RI, can it be approved?" asked Dasco again.
"Agreed," replied the board member, followed by a hammer by the chair of the meeting leader.
