Jayapura Police Holds Large-Scale Patrol Ahead Of The 2024 Pilkada

SENTANI - Jayapura Resort Police (Polres) held a large-scale patrol ahead of the 2024 simultaneous Regional Head Election (Pilkada), in order to create safe conditions for security and public order (kamtibmas) in the local area.

Jayapura Resort Police Chief (Kapolres) AKBP Fredrickus WA Maclarimboen said his party was taking proactive steps by holding large-scale patrols to continue to create safe and peaceful security and security in this area.

"This patrol is part of a preventive effort to anticipate potential security disturbances that may occur at any time," said Fredrickus, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 28.

According to the police chief, his party wants to ensure that community activities can run smoothly even though they are currently entering the stages ahead of the 2024 simultaneous regional elections.

"We want to make sure people feel safe and comfortable during their daily activities, and patrols will continue to be carried out regularly until the election is over," he said.

He explained that large-scale patrols are also proof of the seriousness of the National Police in overseeing the implementation of safe, peaceful and democratic regional elections throughout the country, especially in Papua.

"Hopefully, with the optimization of large-scale patrol activities, the people of Jayapura Regency can feel more peaceful and confident in welcoming the simultaneous regional elections," he said.

He added that the National Police remained neutral in the implementation of the 2024 simultaneous regional elections to create a good democratic atmosphere in Indonesia, especially Jayapura Regency, Papua Province.

"This large-scale patrol is expected to provide a sense of security and calm to the entire community of Jayapura Regency, so that they can participate directly in the regional elections with confidence and without fear," he said.
