Nyepi Day 2021, Ngurah Rai Airport And Harbor Closed 24 Hours

DENPASAR - Airport and port services in Bali will be closed on Nyepi Day 2021, Sunday, March 14. Operational closures are carried out for 24 hours

Operations at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Badung, Bali, will be closed for 24 hours at 06.00 WITA, Sunday, March 14 until 06.00 WITA, Monday, March 15.

That policy refers to the notice to airmen (Notam) number 0357/21 NOTAMN. So, all flights both arriving and departing from I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport were canceled.

"This policy is exempted for flights that are emergency in nature", said General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) Bandar I Gusti Ngurah Rai Branch, Herry AY Sikado in a written statement.

Gilimanuk Port, in Jembrana Regency, Bali, will close the crossing service at the same time and date.

General Manager of ASDP Ketapang, Edi Hermawan, explained that Gilimanuk Port was only closed at 06.00 WITA to provide opportunities for passengers crossing Java Island.

"Why did it just close at 06.00 WITA (in anticipation) that people were heading to Java still on the streets. So we should try to make sure that at 05.00 WITA it is already at the port", he said.

Then for Ketapang Port, Banyuwangi, East Java, the crossing service to Bali is closed early, at 00.00 WITA, Sunday, March 14.

"Because we estimate they will arrive at 02.00 WITA to Bali and still be able to travel to their respective homes within four hours", said Edi Hermawan.

Apart from that, the same policy also applies to Lembar Harbor, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) and Padangbai Port, Karangasem, Bali.
