JAKARTA - President Jokowi Widodo (Jokowi) launched Indonesia's Government Technology (GovTech) called INA Digital at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday, May 27, 2024.

The launch of INA Digital as an integrated solution provider for various government digital services, including national portals and infrastructure-related services, is considered important to increase Indonesia's competitiveness globally.

"We have to strengthen our digital public infrastructure, a toll road for digitizing public services. We also have to strengthen our GovTech, an integrated portal that we call Digital INA," said President Jokowi in a speech reported by ANTARA.

The launch of Digital INA, according to him, emphasized that the presence of the bureaucracy should serve, not slow down or make it difficult for the community.

"Supposedly, the benchmarks should be community satisfaction, benefits received by the community, and ease of community affairs," he said.

He also mentioned the background for integrating public service platforms because previously there were 27,000 applications/platforms in ministries/agencies, as well as local governments that all work independently.

"Therefore, I say that starting this year, I will stop creating new applications, stop creating new platforms. Stop it!" said President Jokowi.

He also said that the integration of public service platforms into Digital INA would save the state budget of up to IDR 6.2 trillion, which was originally allocated to create new applications.

In one ministry there are more than 500 applications. Imagine. Because maybe in the past every change of minister for application, in the regions the governor changes applications, changes the head of the service to change applications. The orientation is always a project. That's what we stop and should not be continued again," said President Jokowi.

After the launch of INA Digital, the government will gradually integrate services from each ministry/institution that now still has their own applications.

The target is that in September, some of the public services have begun to be integrated.
