Chairman of the PDI-P (PDIP) Megawati Soekarnoputri has threatened to fire legislators who do not serve the people. This warning was conveyed especially for cadres who were newly elected in the 2024 Legislative Election.
The threat was during a speech when closing the PDIP National Working Meeting at the Beach City International Stadium, Ancol, North Jakarta on Sunday, May 26.
"Who here has never gone down? Come on, raise their hands," asked Megawati.
The 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia then asked the DPC and the PDIP DPD to set their eyes on the legislators. "Reports to you directly. If they, like these bosses, are finished and don't want to go down to your house, tell you, this is my promise, you know," said Megawati.

Megawati reminded the DPC and PDIP DPD that they have the right to report. They need not be afraid to inform the performance of lawmakers.
