The Reason For Forced The Residents Of Kampung Bayam From KSB, Jakpro Called The Company's Asset Security Form

PT Jakarta Propertindo opened its voice about the forced expulsion of residents of Kampung Bayam from Kampung Susun Bayam (KSB) by their orders. The BUMD belonging to the DKI Provincial Government argued that the emptying of KSB was an effort to secure the company's assets.

In this case, Jakpro was assigned by the DKI Provincial Government to build and manage the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) and KSB located next to the stadium.

President Director of PT Jakpro Iwan Takwin emphasized that as a business entity, Jakpro must always prioritize the practice of good corporate governance (GCG) for a healthy and sustainable business continuity.

"Jakpro has taken a firm stance on securing company assets as a risk mitigation measure that can result in corporate governance," Iwan said in his statement, Wednesday, May 22.

KSB was founded since the leadership of former DKI Governor Anies Baswedan. When inaugurated in October 2022, Anies promised KSB to become a residence for residents affected by the eviction of JIS development.

However, residents of Kampung Bayam and PT Jakpro did not find an agreement regarding the KSB rental rate. The dead end continued until the leadership was replaced by the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono.

Thus, the DKI Provincial Government offers residents to live in flats (rusun) and temporary housing. Now, Jakpro plans to transfer KSB as the residence of JIS operational workers.

"The development of this area itself is intended as a form of sustainability while still paying attention to environmental greenness and the involvement of the people of DKI Jakarta, especially in JIS operational management activities," said Iwan.

Moreover, Iwan emphasized that Jakpro had disbursed funds of Rp. 13.9 billion to be given to 642 families of Bayam Village residents as compensation costs for the eviction of JIS development several years ago.

"The nominal received by residents was recorded to vary from Rp. 6 million to Rp. 110 million. The shuttle action plan program was also carried out departing from the results of ongoing deliberation with groups of residents of the former Kampung Bayam," he explained.

On Tuesday, May 21, residents of Kampung Bayam were surrounded by Jakpro security forces, Satpol PP to the police at KSB. They were forced to leave KSB as their place of residence.

A resident of Kampung Bayam, Neneng, admitted that his group still wanted to live in KSB. Because now they no longer have a place to live. Since the conflict with Jakpro, residents of Kampung Bayam have forcibly occupied KBS without having access to electricity and water. They worked around it by installing a generator.

"Where else are we going? Want to go under the bridge? Temporary housing, we have expired. We can't," he said.
