JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Education Office has reopened the Joint New Student Admissions (PPDB) for the 2024/2025 school year with private schools for thousands of quotas for prospective new students (CPDB).
Last year, PPDB Bersama was provided only at private high school-vocational schools. This year, the DKI Provincial Government added a private junior high school quota. The technical instructions are contained in the Decree of the Head of the DKI Education Office Number 94 of 2024.
PPDB Bersama is held to increase access to education through the involvement of private education units. In PPDB together, CPDB that is not accommodated in public schools can still go to school for free in private schools.
"For private schools, they can immediately register at the school. However, this Joint PPDB is only intended for those (CPDB) who can't afford it. (School fees) are free," said Acting Head of DKI Jakarta Education Office Budi Awaluddin at the DKI Disdik office, South Jakarta, Monday, May 20.
This year, the implementation of PPDB Bersama with a total quota of 8,426 students involved 121 private high schools with a capacity of 2,671 students.
Then, as many as 147 private vocational schools with a capacity of 4,024 students and 138 private junior high schools with a capacity of 1,731 students.
Therefore, Budi hopes that the Joint PPDB can facilitate education for underprivileged students due to limited public school quotas.
Bearing in mind, in the Disdik listing, the capacity of public junior high schools this year is only 47.03 percent of the CPDB number prediction, and the country's SMA/SMK capacity is only 33.53 percent.
"Because the capacity is limited, we have PPDB together. This joint PPDB accommodates sides that cannot be accommodated at public high schools," explained Budi.
