DENPASAR - Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform Abdulah Azwar Anas ensured that the recommendation to increase the status of the State Hindu Religious High School (STAHN) Mpu Kuturan Singaraja to the State Hindu Religious Institute is still in process.

"In the near future (recommendations) will soon go down. Currently it is still in process," said Abdulah Azwar Anas while reviewing the STAHN Mpu Kuturan Singaraja Campus in Banyuning Village, Singaraja City, Buleleng Regency, Bali, Monday, May 20.

According to him, the largest and only country religious education campus in northern Bali deserves to increase the status of high schools to institutes because the education process has been carried out well, as well as the terms of student requirements and others that have met the minimum requirements.

Anas explained that the proposed increase in status from high school to institute was also an effort to strengthen higher education governance so that later it could have an impact on the common people.

But my hope is that the rector and staff will be able to realize qualified higher education governance, starting from institutional evaluation, equitable distribution, proportionality of the ratio of lecturers and students, increasing the competence of lecturers, and studies programs in the religious sector must be the focus of State Religious Universities (PTKN)," he said.

Meanwhile, Chairman of STAHN Mpu Kutpuran Singaraja Prof. Dr. I Gede Suwindia said the increase in STAHN status to an institute has been processed and has been carried out in accordance with the mandate of the Master Plan for Development (RIP) and Strategic Plans (Renstra), as well as all minimum requirements can be exceeded.
